The inspiration for Green & Kerley’s açaí, apple & mango drink hit us whilst on a beach in Brazil. Like many others who went before us, we tried açaí and instantly thought it would go down well in the UK. On our return, we learned of the fruit’s outstanding nutritional properties and set to work on blending the UK’s first and finest Brazilian Superfruit Drink.

It’s not only the delicious taste of our drinks that we care about, but also the sustainable harvesting of açaí.
Within the Amazon rainforest, Açaí palms cover an area the size of Switzerland. In those parts of the rainforest that have been destroyed by human development, the palm is the first to regenerate. Sustainable harvesting of the palm’s berries helps preserve the Amazon, and provides its local communities with a viable and sustainable alternative to deforestation, which is a major environmental concern.
According to Green Peace “The fruit of the Açaí Palm is the most important non-wood forest product, in terms of money, from the river delta of the Amazon.” Working with Amazonian co-operatives in this way helps to ensure a better future for us all.
